Message from Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun

Erciyes University is a pioneering higher education institution that provides accredited education and
training services at international standards, produces innovative knowledge and technology, transforms this
knowledge and technology into social benefit, adheres to its core values and is environmentally sensitive.

In line with this vision and its core values, Erciyes University has also taken an active role in sustainability
activities. We lead the society in environmental, social and economic terms through our academic research,
projects developed with our stakeholders and events organized throughout the year.

Our university has taken important
steps in sustainability and created a

robust sustainability ecosystem.
Established in 2021, the Sustainability

Office transformed into a Coordination
Office in 2023 and led many

sustainability-themed activities with In the UI GreenMetric World University
the participation of our academic and Rankings 2023, Erciyes University

administrative staff and students. Our achieved a significant success by
university, which embraces ranking 85th worldwide and 3rd in
Türkiye. In addition, in the THE Impact
sustainability in its institutional, Ranking 2024, our university ranked in
environmental, economic and social the 301-400 range worldwide and 9th in

Erciyes University aims for an egalitarian and libertarian social life free from
discrimination by addressing sustainability in many dimensions beyond the

environmental dimension. Environmentally friendly buildings are being constructed
on our campus, solar power plants are being established and many other
sustainable practices such as gray water treatment systems as part of water

management are being implemented. Our university will continue to contribute
significantly to our country and region with its green campus approach and in the
fight against climate change.
