ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY UNIVERSITY OF THE YEAR: ERCIYES UNIVERSITY

Erciyes University was selected as the

“Environmentally-friendly University of the Year” in
the public vote held by the Electro-Technology
Club (BUEC) of Boğaziçi University. Awards of the
environmentally-friendly individuals and

institutions of the year determined by the votes of
the jury members consisting of experts and
academics and 58,208 public votes were
presented. Our University was deemed worthy of

this prestigious award in the category of
“Environmentally-friendly University of the Year”
with 37% of the votes. Assoc. Prof. Şükrü Taner
Azgın, Sustainability Coordinator, received the

award on behalf of our university. Our university
was ranked 85th in the world and 3rd among 98
Turkish universities in the UI Greenmetric Ranking
2023.

SUSTAINABLE LIFE CONGRESS

The Sustainability Coordination Office attended the 3rd Sustainable Living Congress,
organized by the Sustainable Living Association in Izmir on November 9-10, 2023. Assoc.

Prof. Dr. Şükrü Taner Azgın, ERU Sustainability Coordinator, Sustainability Commission
members Res. Asst. Dr. Merve Çapaş and Res. Asst. Dr. Gözde Kestellioğlu attended the
congress where experts discussed what can be done in different areas of life for a
sustainable future. It is aimed to raise social awareness through the scientific studies

that the participants will publish after the congress.
