SUSTAINABLE LAND POLICY

Erciyes University adheres to the principles of environmental sustainability
by combining people-oriented, scientific, technological and social activities

with its global leadership vision and supports a sustainable future through
environmental protection. The university adopts an effective, accurate and
efficient approach to land and environmental management that focuses on
the protection and improvement of ecosystems and the sustainable use of

biodiversity and continues to update its environmental policies by regularly
evaluating environmental performance and collaborating with relevant
administrative units and research centers. Accordingly, Erciyes University's
sustainable land policy includes the following items:

Conservation and Sustainable Use of Natural Areas
Forests, wetlands and ecosystems on the campus are
sustainably protected and biodiversity is secured by

identifying priority areas. Special measures are taken to
prevent the habitat loss of endemic species.

Sustainability of Agricultural and Production Areas

Agriculture and animal husbandry activities on campus are
managed sustainably and chemical use is reduced by
encouraging organic agriculture.

Soil and Water Management
Soil fertility is increased through erosion control, water
resources are monitored to ensure efficient consumption
and water pollution is prevented.

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment
Land use and environmental impacts are regularly
monitored and policies are constantly reviewed and

updated.

Conservation of the Spermophilus Population
Habitat for the Spermophilus population is protected, plans

are made in line with the opinions of the monitoring
committee and awareness events are organized.
