OUR UNIVERSITY, THE 85TH MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD IN THE UI GREENMETRIC 2023 RANKING

The results of the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking System 2023, which
evaluates world universities in the fields of environmental awareness, energy and
climate change, waste, transportation management and sustainability, were
announced. Our university ranked 85th among the world universities and 3rd
among 98 Turkish universities included in the ranking where 1183 universities were

evaluated. In the UI GreenMetric ranking, which aims to draw attention to the issues
regarding sustainability and to raise global awareness about environmental
awareness, our university increased its total score from 8260 to 8460 in 2023. It

increased its score from 1325 to 1350 in the Building and Infrastructure category,
from 1535 to 1610 in the Energy and Climate Change category and from 1575 to 1675
in the Education and Research category. It succeeded in ranking 4th in the Building
& Infrastructure and Transportation categories among the universities in Türkiye.

The UI GreenMetric platform was
established by the University of
Indonesia in 2010. The UI
GreenMetric Ranking evaluates
and compares universities’

current status and policies on
green campus and sustainability
worldwide.

The UI GreenMetric platform aims to encourage greater attention to tackling global
climate change, energy and water conservation, waste recycling and green
transportation by drawing the attention of university administrators and

stakeholders. ERU carries out essential activities and achieves significant success in
education, research and community service to contribute to our city and country at
a high level. In addition, the university carries out significant activities to improve

and popularize green campus, energy saving and environmentally friendly practices
in order to provide a conducive environment for its students and staff. Our
