WORLD MS DAY

Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Fatih Yetkin, a faculty member at
the Neurology Department/ERU Faculty of Medicine,
made a statement on the occasion of “May 30 Multiple
Sclerosis (MS) Day”. He stated that there had been rapid
developments in the treatment of MS in recent years and

that individual differences were also influential in
diagnosis.
ADMISSION TO UCARE/ACARE EXCELLENCE CENTER PROGRAMS

The Division of Immunology and Allergy/Department
of Chest Diseases/ERU Faculty of Medicine has
deserved to be included in UCARE (Urticaria) and

ACARE (Angioedema) Excellence Center Programs.
Urticarie Centers of Reference and Excellence
(UCARE) are centers of excellence for patients with
urticaria. Up to now, 152 centers from 44 countries
have been involved in the program, and our division
has been one of these centers. Angioedema Centers
of Reference and Excellence (ACARE), on the other
hand, are excellence centers established for the
patients with angioedema, and 80 centers in the
world have been included in the program up to now.
May 17 Nurses Day

The Chief Physician’s Office of the Medical Faculty Hospitals held an event on the

occasion of “May 17 Nurses Day”. Our Acting Rector Prof. Dr. M. Hakan Poyrazoğlu,
Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Sultan Taşcı, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Cemal
Alper Kemaloğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Mürüvvet Başer,
Chief Physician of Hospitals Prof. Dr. Fatih Horozoğlu and many guests attended
the event held at Sabancı Cultural Complex. The Music Group of the Faculty of

Fine Arts performed a concert at the event that started after a moment of silence
and the Turkish National Anthem.
