SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY POLICY

This policy aims to minimize the negative impact on the environment through

environmental impact assessment and management in accordance with the
sustainability principles of the relevant activity during supplier selection,
procurement and performance evaluations in the sustainable supply chain.
Erciyes University, which maintains its place among the world's most

environmentally-friendly Turkish Universities in the UI GreenMetric Ranking
2023 and aims for higher levels in the QS World State Universities sustainability
rankings, aims to turn to mechanisms that guarantee the incorporation of the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as well as the laws and

regulations of the Republic of Türkiye in all procurement processes in which it
interacts with its stakeholders with an internal green procurement approach.
The expected impacts of the policy are as follows:

Raising awareness of sustainable procurement,
The availability of basic knowledge and resources for the

university staff in their actions to create this awareness in their
departments,
Reduced costs and improved service quality in the long term,
These policies are effective in the selection of suppliers and in

the transition of suppliers to a sustainable approach across our
country,
Contributing to the waste management conducted at Erciyes
University, which has the Zero Waste Certificate issued by the

Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change
within the scope of the Green Campus Zero Waste project,
Minimizing unnecessary purchases,
Promoting environmental responsibility and disseminating

environmentally-friendly technologies in line with the
Principles 7, 8 and 9 among the 10 principles of the Global
Compact under the heading, “Environment”.
