ZERO WASTE POLICY AND WASTE DIRECTIVE
Our university received a “Zero Waste Certificate”
as part of the “Zero Waste Project” conducted
countrywide by the Ministry of Environment and
Urbanization. Upon the publication of the zero
waste regulation in July 2019, activities for the
Zero Waste system were initiated at our
university and are still being conducted. When
the Erciyes University Waste Directive is
evaluated within the scope of zero waste
practices, it is seen that it contains similar goals
and objectives. Therefore, waste management is
conducted at ERU by targeting zero waste
strategy. In line with the zero waste project,
activities such as recycling, reducing waste,
preventing waste and correctly separating waste
at the source are carried out.
SUPERVISION OF THE WASTE DIRECTIVE
ERU Environmental Problems and Clean Production Research and Application
Center (ERCEVREM) facilitates and supervises the implementation of existing
zero waste practices and waste guidelines.
In this context, Berna Akın, a lecturer at ERCEVREM,
and members of the Environment and Zero Waste
Club, which conducts activities to raise awareness
on zero waste, supervised the Faculty of Veterinary
Medicine on December 15, 2023. During the
supervision, all processes relating to waste
management were evaluated and necessary
information was provided for improvement
activities.
WASTE CAGES
In cooperation with Melikgazi
Municipality, packaging waste
collection points were identified at
our university and our waste cages
were placed in these places.
