CLIMATE STRATEGY PAPER

Erciyes University aims to establish an Environmental Sustainability policy and to carry out all
necessary activities in accordance with this policy on the university campus. In this context, it

has established an environmental sustainability strategy. The university staff and students also
have the necessary sensitivity and responsibility to support the determined sustainable
environmental policy. In its Climate Strategy Plan, Erciyes University has set the following
targets in the light of measurable parameters relating to sustainability:

Supporting the social-cultural development of our region,
Contributing to the social life of our region through artistic and cultural activities,
Supporting sustainable economic development through the projects of research centers,
Organizing need-based training for the surrounding community,

Protecting natural and cultural assets,
Preservation, maintenance and repair of the historical buildings in use,
Participating in the activities for the afforestation of our region,
Increasing the number of members of communities acting actively regarding environment,

sustainability and climate issues,
Increasing the number of activities on environmental awareness and protection,
Cooperation with national and international stakeholders working in the direction to ensure
that the importance of the use of renewable energy sources is understood and adopted by

our students,
Organizing training,
Contributing to the protection of the ecosystem through the effective use of renewable
energy solutions and setting an example for the environment.
